After I traveled to Cuba and became crazy about mojitos, I decided to make my own version of the drink at home! Sometimes I add a shot of rum, but most of the time I don’t because I really just like how refreshing this drink is on its own. But for my ~over 21~ friends, go for it!
This really is the drink of the summer for me – it’s cool, light, slightly sweet and super fresh.
*makes one drink
10-12 mint leaves
1 tbsp. agave
8 oz. seltzer water
Optional: 1 shot white rum or silver tequila
- Cut the lime in half and juice one of the halves into your glass.
- Add the mint and agave (if you want to add a shot, do it now!). Muddle everything together with a wooden spoon.
- Fill the glass with ice and fill it up to the top with seltzer water.
- Finish it off with a lime slice.
