This strawberry compote is so easy to make and super versatile! Here, it is pictured with my Strawberry Almond Cake. It is also great on oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, and ice cream!
1 ½ cups diced strawberries
1 tsp lemon zest
1 Tbsp lemon juice
⅓ cup water
1 ½ Tbsp agave
1 Tbsp arrowroot powder
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook on medium heat, constantly stirring.
- Keep cooking until strawberries break down and everything comes together (doesn’t take long).
- Enjoy and store leftovers in a jar in the fridge.
