Avocado Turkey Burgers (gf + df + paleo)
I’m a huge fan of turkey burgers on their own, but this recipe really takes it to a new level. With avocado mixed into the patty, you’ll get a juicy burger with big chunks of our favorite green fruit (yes, avocado is a fruit!) throughout the whole thing. Grilling out is one of my favorite summer pastimes and I’m trying to squeeze in as much of it as I can before the cold weather comes upon us. If you’re like me, this is a perfect recipe to try on the grill during some of your last few grilling sessions. If you don’t have access to a grill or if that just isn’t your thing, try cooking these inside using a frying pan! It’s a bit quicker and just as yummy!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
¼ cup fresh parsley, diced
1 small avocado, chopped
Dash of salt, pepper, and onion powder
Grapeseed oil
Optional: cheese to melt on top
Steps:
Use a fork (or your hands) to break up the turkey and mix in all ingredients except oil until everything is very well combined.
Shaped the burger mixture into about 4 or 5 patties.
Lightly brush grapeseed oil onto each side of the patties.
Place on a grill or pan and flip after a few minutes, or when the side facing down is browned. Continue cooking until the other side is browned and the internal temperature reaches 165⁰ If melting cheese on top, place the cheese on after you flip the patties.
